Okay… it’s now late (unless it turns up in the next two hours). Like many other people, I upgraded to the Elonex Onet+, and got an email saying that it would be with me by the end of August as I recorded here. Although previous delivery dates (for the original ‘one’) came and went, this time Elonex were more specific about the date by which we would have the upgraded machines.
I’m hopeful that it will not be too much longer (robin2204 reports here that Elonex will be delivering his by the end of next week). I ordered mine back in April as a late, extra Birthday gift for my kids … today I was considering hanging on to it and making it a Christmas present.
Although ‘One’ deliveries have made it out, has anyone received a One t?

It seems a bit odd that the Elonex One (and +, t, t+) has apparently been readily available from Littlewoods Direct for weeks, but those of us who paid in full over a month ago cannot be supplied.
Has anyone got an Elonex One or One+ delivered yet?
With respect to the Onet and Onet+ there’s not even a promise that back-order deliveries starting 1st September will all be delivered during the next fortnight, it’s another “anticipate” on their web-site:
“Elonex ONEt pre-launch deliveries Aug 08
There has been a slight delay to Elonex ONEt deliveries. Deliveries will commence week beginning 1st Sept. We anticipate all back orders are then completed within two weeks. Elonex apologise for the delay to your order. We are doing everything in our power to ensure all deliveries are made as quickly as possible. ”
It’s also curious that if the majority of the 200,000 pre-orders were changed to the free upgrade to the t and t+, that the original outstanding orders for the Elonex One and One+ have not been supplied. There should have been more than enough to fulfill the 200,000 pre-orders, but it increasingly looks like Elonex sold the lot to Littlewoods.
I’ve phoned them up and got a reply stating that they were held up in customs so will be 1 week late. The distributors now have them and they are checking for quality control issues.
Also if you wanted a forum I am able free of charge to host one on my web server (Ad free), though I may not have time to run one though. It will just need a web address to be sorted out.

I rang Elonex today and after 10 minutes I got through. I must say however their hold music is amongst some of the best around. A very helpful lady apoligised and said she would ‘check the status of my order’. Anyway she said there was a problem with the white 1t’s and it would be around 2 weeks.
less than 15 minutes later an email arrived from Elonex saying my white 1t was dispatched!
Question;
Was this A – a pure coincidence or;
Was it B – they have a stock ready to dispatch if you ring the help line?
Why not give it a go. I didn’t shout, demand or try to cancel, just good Karma perhaps?

I too wonder if anyone has received a One T – or indeed any version!
So nice of them to email us apologising for the further delay – the machine was due to be delivered originally back in June, then they said before 01/9.
I ordered on the very first day.
Surely they can email us with a despatch date now – especially as for new orders they are indicating that they will deliver in October.
As of 2nd September at about 10:30am, I received my delivery confirmation from Elonex. It goes like this:

looking for a way to install flash!
got mine early this morning. my first impressions are:
Very small and light
Stylish looking
Bright and clear displays
Easy to get around
Internet problems, wifi rarely connects
With ethernet is fine
Bit slow on applications
Mp3’s play smoothly
When internet working, general websites such as ebay run fine.
Have not tried to run video.
Good value for money, so long as i get my internet problem fixed.
I received mine this afternoon (Sept 3rd) and at first was not impressed. OK the dimensions were there on the official site, not that I noticed as I took note from the picture of the young female with it at her hands. Nonetheless, I unwrapped it and took out the laptop and mains charger to discover upon inspection it is not as pictured on their site: http://www.elonexone.co.uk/onet.html.
Upon further research, I discovered the picture in question is the OneTwo, the first I had come across it. The OneTwo, you may notice, has ‘Elonex’ close to the power button, under the screen; the LED lights below the keyboard section are split into two, either side; the OneTwo has ‘code technology’ on the right hand side by the LED lights.
Now it’s ticking inside my mind that ‘OneT’ stands for ‘OneTwo’. But the designs are slightly different and this at first had thrown me off, thinking I had received that which was not portrayed on their site. But I’m cool with it now, only I’m charging mine at the moment and until it has sufficient power in the battery, my OneT will not power on.
Pity, I’m being too eager, which is understandable considering I was told when I had pre-ordered that it would be arriving in June, then July, then August only to eventually come in the first week of September.
I had e-mailed Elonex after the notification of the 2nd delay to ask if they would therefore upgrade customers further from the OneT to the OneT+, since they did do so previously from the One. To no avail. Elonex should really show the OneT on their site rather than the OneTwo. At the moment I cannot power it to find how it really works, right now I’m pleased with it. I have big hands and fingers so will have to get use to typing on smaller keys.
Anyone managed to get WiFi to work? I can browse OK if I have a Lan cable connected but WiFi connects with IP address invalid. If I put in a valid static ip address, netmask and gateway. It accepts but still can’t browse in Firefox

Turns out the WiFi issue is a known problem and is documented on the Dutch support site http://www.trendtac.nl/faq.html. Had to change the channel on my Netgear router from 11 to 1. Connects OK now but does drop the connection regularly. I guess it should work OK with a different router?
P.S. I got the Dutch site translated by http://babelfish.yahoo.com. Just in case you need it.
Hi Guys, I need help and elonex are shut over the weekend. I have selected the alternate (children’s theme). The problem is now I can’t do anything except what’s on the taskbar!
Any suggestions much appreciated
