Elonex One Delivered? Anyone got one yet?

I was just wondering if anyone has actually received their order for an ‘original’ ElonexOne or ElonexOne+? There is much speculation on the web that the free upgrade to the Elonex One T that many people received is to deal with a late delivery issue of the 200,000 units that were offered in the first instance.

My upgrade was logged and a confirmation email stated that delivery would be within 28 Days (so about three weeks to go if that is calender days..). You can track the order using the order reference on Elonex’s site, but theres nothing saying that the laptop has been dispatched.

I’m going to open this up for comments, so please leave a post if you’ve got either your ‘One’ or ‘Onet’. It would be interesting to have comparisions between order/upgrade date and receipt.

Sorry, I haven’t received mine either nor have I found any evidence of anyone else receiving a one, one+, oneT or a oneT+.

I’ve become a little obsessed and conduct a google search every morning to see if there is any new news. All of the “reviews” seem to be based on a glimpse of the machines at the education show or on Elonex’s own press releases. Interestingly as soon as Elonex announced the oneT and oneT+ upgrades some of the “news” sites started talking about the original one as if it had been kicking around for ages.

I hope we haven’t all been duped!

I also have’nt recieved mine, and I also google search every morning in the hope someone somewhere has recieved theirs!!! I did e mail elonex though to ask if a despatch e mail would be sent out upon shipment and in fairness they replied swiftly that yes it would (I don’t believe we’ve been duped, they’re a big company). I ordered mine for my girlfriend as she is always hogging my pc looking at clothing sites!!! And she’s asked for it to be in pink (presumably so I won’t pinch it!) Seriously though it was originaly promised for june and now it looks like being August, what’s the hold up?

My guess is that they’ve been heavily subscribed (after all, a laptop for the price of a sat-nav – people are going to be interested!). The same sort of thing happened with the first eeePC from Asus – they were like gold-dust before Christmas 2007 in the UK. There were loads of suppliers who were willing to take a pre-order, but with no confirmation of when the laptops would get in. This thing is half the price of the Asus!

I agree with what you are saying – i.e. that Elonex will deliver sooner or later. I’m just surprised that they haven’t got even just a few out there in the real world just to get the ball rolling and nip people’s concerns in the bud.

To be fair to Elonex, they have made two assertions about when the laptops will be delivered:
    - All original ‘One’s to be delivered before the new School year (with deliveries commencing end of June?);
    - When I took the ‘Upgraded’ One t option, the confirmation email said delivery would be within 28 days – so mine should be about three weeks away.

Anyhow, I’m still pretty excited about the imminent arrival!

I received my order confirmation email on 10 July 2008 and opted for an upgrade to the One T Plus. Money changed hands, email receipts were sent and 21 days later I still check the status of my order online because it has not yet been delivered.

Phoning dsl shop (who are apparently the distributor) helps to the extent that they tell you orders are being sent out on a first come first served basis – and I will be emailed with confirmation of the delivery date within the next seven days.

If the reported sales of 200,000 Elonex One units are correct, and buyers have like me paid one month in advance, then it is not difficult to see the attraction of selling UMPCs in this way. If you take an average cost (inc delivery) of £110 and an average waiting time of one month then Elonex stand to earn approx £90,000 in interest while we all blog around.

I suppose the worst case scenario is that £90,000 is not as appealing as disappearing with £22m and a one month head start on the rest of us!

If I get a One T Plus (or a refund) I’ll let you know!

Haven’t received yet, but it has been dispatched, shouldn’t be long. (Elonex ONE… finally dispatched)

  6. stevet says:

Mine was dispatched on 1 August 08.

But Elonex have not given me a courier tracking number, so I have no idea who will deliver it and when!

  7. Zorki says:

I had my order confirmation on 10th July, the same as robab.

I opted for the onet+ upgrade, and delivery was promised within 28 days.
As the 28 days are up on Thursday, I rang up elonex to find out when I could expect delivery, and why they had already debited my credit card (10 July!!)

Well, a very hassled sounding chap told me there has been a bit of a delay on the manufacturing side, and delivery should be the last week of August, and they will be sending out an e-mail within the next day or so, giving you the option of cancelling the order, having the money refunded onto your card until the goods are despatched, or leaving the order as it is.

If you want to contact Elonex as well their number is 0871 222 3456 (option 3)

Ah well, only another 3 weeks of ‘Daddy, when is our bright green computer coming’………..

  8. sozzi says:

Received an email from Elonex this morning re elonex onet+ (day 28 of the 28 days they were gonna deliver within) saying they will not start delivering until the end of August now. This company is useless. I originally ordered this thing months ago.

  9. wingers says:

having reserved my one in Feb, finally got email offering free upgrade to onet and paid my full money at start of July so obviously been waiting and expecting to receive it soon as 28 days nearly up

Then today I get an email saying due to overwhelming demand I am now going to have to wait until end of august!

This whole thing is a con, elonex must be making a fortune from the interest on the money they took months back

Supposedly I was meant to be a early shipper (beta tester!), hate to think how long you have to wait if you are not an early shipper!

    Copy of email below:-

Demand for the ONEt free upgrade and accessories has exceeded our estimations, with the majority of customers ordering a range of accessories, including the indispensible wristVAULTs. As a result we are experiencing a delay on deliveries. The official launch of the ONEt is 1st September however Pre-orders, of which you are one, will receive their order in the last week of August, ahead of this product launch.

We sincerely apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience caused. We would therefore like to offer you the following options:
    • Continue with your order as it currently is (no action is required by you)
    • We are able to temporarily refund your order and re process the payment when your order is dispatched (please call 0870 240 1060)
    • If you would like to cancel your order (please call 0870 240 1060 or email us here)

Please accept our sincerest apologies, your order is of the utmost importance to us and we are putting every effort into speeding up all deliveries.

    Best Regards

    Elonex

Delivery of orders for the OneT Plus (and presumably also the One T) has been postponed until “late August” due to the “high demand”. Those of us that have paid in full have the option of 1)Waiting until later in the month – to see what turns up, 2)Requesting a refunfd and then paying DSL Shop when the product is ready to be despatched, or 3) Cancelling the order and taking a refund.

Just received an email from Elonex informing me that my One T+ have been shipped and will delivered shortly. Will let you all know when it arrives and will also do a review.
